The MMPI project is focused to provide professional inservice for both special education and general education teachers of special education students who are slated to take the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) test (Grades 3-8). The focus is intentionally narrow to address AYP issues, but the project is relevant to a much broader audience. Here you can listen to ten webinar recordings on various aspects of including students with disabilities in the general curriculum, and you can also download the accompanying PowerPoints.  Topics cover (a) reading and literacy strategies; (b) math strategies; (c) collaborative teaching; (d) differentiated instruction; (e) making abstract core curriculum accessible; (f) science as inquiry; (g) learning strategies; and others. The Building the Legacy training curriculum was produced by NICHCY at the request of the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) at the U.S. Department of Education. The curriculum is intended to assist in understanding and implementation of the IDEA 2004 and its Part B regulations (published in 2006).

Each individual module includes:
• a slideshow for trainers to use;
• a Trainer's Guide explaining how the slides work as well as the content of the slides; and
• handouts for participants.

These two online modules introduce the theory, principles and application of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to teacher candidates and inservice teachers.  They provide higher education faculty with a multimedia, interactive online-learning environment that can be embedded in instructional methods courses.  The modules are designed to be flexible enough to be used as part of an online, hybrid, or face-to-face course.  The topics are: Module 1: Introduction to UDL, and Module 2: Applying the UDL Framework to Lesson Development.  (Located in Wakefield, Massachusetts, CAST is a nonprofit research and development organization.  Funding for module development was provided ...
