That is the principle guiding Pre-K Now's virtual tour of a high quality pre-k classroom.  Understanding what to look for is crucial to families investigating their pre-k options.  Policymakers, reporters, and educators can also learn the hallmarks of high quality on a classroom level.  Complete with photographs of a real pre-k setting, the tour brings high quality to life.  Click on the alphabetic letters in each segment for information on practices depicted by the topic.  (Pre-K Now is a project of the Pew Center on the States in Washington DC, with support from the Pew Charitable Trusts and other funders.)

The classroom strategies presented in this program were selected from among those that have empirical evidence of effectiveness. The purpose of this condensed program is to describe student management programs that work effectively to prevent the future occurrence of antisocial behavior and resolve minor behavioral problems in the classroom.
