The Secondary Transition Collection provides a comprehensive collection of materials and resources to assist in your understanding and implementation of effective secondary transition.  Resources include a PowerPoint presentation with accompanying presenter’s guide, as well as additional materials. The IDEA Partnership and its products reflect the collaborative work of more than 50 national organizations, technical assistance providers, and organizations and agencies at state and local levels. The IDEA Partnership is housed at the National Association of State Directors of Special Education (NASDSE).

These modules were developed to enable district teams to meet their increasing professional development needs in a flexible as-needed manner. While the modules will not provide all the information that you need to implement Response to Intervention effectively, they will provide an awareness of each of the key components and materials to help staff understand how Response to Intervention is consistent with many instructional and leadership initiatives: Personal Literacy Plans, Secondary Reform, Special Education Eligibility, Professional Learning Communities. The purpose of the Blueprint documents is to provide a framework around which implementation of response to intervention (RtI) can be built. This publication, “Response to Intervention Blueprints for Implementation: District Level” is one of three publications. Its purpose is to provide concrete guidance to implementation sites. The other publications in this series are the school building level and state level editions. The Blueprints were developed jointly by NASDSE and the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE).

Geared toward educators, administrators, and policymakers, this guide provides recommendations that focus on reducing high school dropout rates. Strategies presented include identifying and advocating for at-risk students, implementing programs to improve behavior and social skills, and keeping students engaged in the school environment.
